Pizza Lunch
October 2008
Next Pizza Lunch:
Friday November 14, 2008
Friday, October 10th
marked the first Home School Association’s Pizza Lunch for
2008.
Over
40 steaming hot pizza’s came through SJA’s doors for
students who anxiously awaited this hot meal treat.
Not surprisingly,
the pizza was a huge hit with the students. The cafeteria was a
buzz with smiles, laughter and excitement from the smallest kindergartener
to the oldest eighth grader.
The Home School Association has partnered
with Sal's Pizzeria located at 82-02 37th Avenue to prepare the
pizza pies in time for the first lunch period at 11:00 a.m.
“It was incredible to see so many pizzas come
in and right on time, ” said Susanne May, Home School Liaison,
who organized the event. It ran smoothly and the kids loved
it.
Each month, students will have the option to pre-pay for a
Friday Pizza Lunch. For only $3, each child gets a slice of pizza
and a drink.
Notices will be handed out to students in K-8th grade
and will be due back to the Home School Association a week before
the pizza lunch so the pies can be ordered.
Parents (Volunteers) had a fun time as they made sure that each
student had their correct pizza and drink combination as requested.
This was also a great way to connect with other parents
in the school.
Special thanks
to all the parents , students and volunteers who supported this
event.
It could not have
been a success without you.
All dates are tentative and are subject to change.
