We will be raising money for the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart (the founders
of our school). This fundraiser is also a display of our values and commitment
to our school, so please promote to the other parents of your children’s
classes. The children will be able to purchase a cross-coloring sheet for $1.00,
they can purchase as many as they like. The sheets will be colored by the children
and returned to school. Each class will display the drawings in school. The
class with the most coloring sheets will win a Pizza Lunch for the class.
- Family Harvest Line Dance
This is our first fundraising event this year that we have planned for both
parents and children to attend. The advertising flyer and the flyer for
ticket orders went out this week, and we hope you will also help spread the
word to other parents about this exciting night. The Harvest Dance was a wonderful
event last year and everyone that attended had a great time.
We need volunteers to shop and purchase the food, drinks etc. that we need
for the line dance. Volunteers are also needed for set up, working the event
and clean up. Please promote this event to the other parents in your
class. This is a fundraiser designed for the whole family to enjoy. (No babysitting
involved) It promises to be a fun family event.
- Thanksgiving Mass – On Thanksgiving Day Thurs, Nov 26th at
9am, St Joan of Arc will be having a mass to celebrate Thanksgiving. Representatives
from the Parish Societies are asked to show a token of appreciation to the
less fortunate families in our community like, St Barbara’s Parish
in Brooklyn and Marguerites Pantry. SJAHS Association will be making a contribution
at this mass. There will be reserved seating for two representatives in the
front of the church with the other representatives from the various societies
at St Joan of Arc. But all SJAHS Representatives are invited to attend the
mass with their families to celebrate in this mass of Thanksgiving.
Teachers Gift- Volunteers needed
It is customary at St Joan of Arc to show our appreciation to our wonderful
teachers at Christmas time by having a non-mandatory collection from each class.
We will need eight volunteers in total to spearhead this effort. Two representatives
from each floor of the school are needed as well as two representatives from
WMH building. These volunteers will be responsible for printing out the flyers,
sending them home with the children and collecting the money for each teacher.
This requires a lot of bookkeeping and organizing to keep track of all the
donations. If you would like to volunteer please sign up on the website.
- Next Home School Meeting: Wednesday, Dec 2nd.
